Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs)

If your goal is to address your indirect emissions from grid-connected electricity use, RECs are the way to go. RECs are the currency for tracking and trading renewable energy and they help build the demand for new renewable energy project development.

When making a REC purchase look for a Green-e^® Energy certified renewable energy marketer – such as Community Energy. Because RECs are intangible products, Green-e^® Energy requires its certified marketers to be independently audited each year.

Energy Efficiency Solutions 

On-site Solar: 

Rooftop and ground-mounted solar energy projects deliver clean, fuel-free electricity directly to your business and provide a fixed energy price. 

HVAC Efficiency Management Products: 

HVAC efficiency management products are easy to install and can reduce heating and cooling costs by up to 20%. Generate immediate energy savings without compromising end-use performance and enjoy 1-3 year paybacks. 

Lighting Retrofits: 

Replacing conventional fluorescent lights with high efficiency T-8 or T-5 lamps is one of the most cost effective ways to reduce your energy use. Typical payback times for lighting retrofit projects are under three years. 

Demand Response: 

Customers with the ability to decrease their load by at least 100 kW on short notice are eligible to receive regular payments through participation in PJM’s demand response program. 

Energy Management Software: 

Energy Management Software allows you to track energy usage in real-time. When coupled with Community Energy’s constituent engagement services, this real-time information can be leveraged to change behavior and reduce energy costs.
